* Famotidine USP 20mg

INDICATIONS AND USAGE

* Famotidine is indicated for the relief of heartburn, acid indigestion, and sour stomach.

* It is also indicated for active duodenal ulcer, benign gastric ulcer, reflux oesophagitis, gastritis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION

By oral route:

* Duodenal & benign gastric ulcer: 40mg for four weeks or 20mg for eight weeks at night.

* Prophylaxis or relapse : 20-40mg/day bedtime for 12 weeks.

* Zollinger Ellison Syndrome: Initially 20mg 6 hourly.

* Children:- Not recommended

* The most common side effects contain dizziness, headache, nausea, myalgia, skin rashes & itching.
